1. About the service
These terms explain the trade-in assessment service offered by ALLAN STORES in Tanzania. Read them alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Your final written quotation and handover record identify the arrangements for your particular device.
Explore first. Decide after inspection. Using the estimator, choosing a device during preorder or sending an assessment enquiry does not sell your device to us, collect a payment or reserve a replacement device.
Our website currently provides phone and laptop estimates. If your model or another device type is not listed, ask our team whether we can assess it. A listing or illustration does not guarantee acceptance.
2. Ownership and eligibility
You must have legal capacity to enter the transaction and own the device or have the owner's authority to offer it. Give accurate model, configuration, condition and contact details. Tell us about repairs, faults, replaced parts, account locks and outstanding finance or other ownership claims.
Bring valid identification and evidence of ownership when requested. A device must not be stolen, counterfeit or offered without the necessary authority. We may decline or pause an assessment if ownership or lawful transfer cannot be established.
Do not send a device with a swollen, leaking or dangerously hot battery. Contact our team before bringing a device that may be unsafe to handle.
3. Estimates and physical inspection
The amount marked “Up to” in our estimator is the approved maximum for an eligible device in excellent condition. It is not a guaranteed offer or an automatic discount. If no amount is available, the team must assess eligibility and value first.
We check the device's identity, configuration, functionality, condition, ownership and current resale demand. The result may be a lower offer, a request for further information or a decision not to accept the device. Changing your model or condition selection can change the assessment.
Online figures may change before an offer is agreed. Any validity period for a final quotation will be stated in that quotation; an estimate does not lock in a price or an arrival date for your next device.
4. Your decision and handover
Our team will explain the assessed offer before you decide. You may decline before completing the trade-in. If you leave a device for inspection, agree how and when it will be collected or returned and keep the assessment receipt or reference.
A completed trade-in requires your agreement to the final value and the handover arrangements. The transaction record should identify the device, its serial number or IMEI where applicable, its assessed condition, the accepted value and how that value is settled. Until those arrangements are agreed, an enquiry is not permission to resell or dispose of your device.
Ask about cancellation before completing the handover. Once an agreed trade-in is completed, the original device may no longer be available to return. This does not remove any remedy available under applicable law.
5. Trade-in value and your new purchase
The final quotation or transaction record must explain whether the agreed value will reduce a particular purchase balance or be settled another way, including the timing. Do not assume a cash payout, instant website credit or a refund to a payment card unless our team expressly confirms it.
Choosing trade-in in the preorder form records a request for assessment only. The displayed iPhone price does not have a trade-in deduction applied. Availability, the purchase price, delivery or collection, warranty and any remaining amount payable are confirmed separately before payment.
If you cancel or return a new purchase connected to a completed trade-in, contact us to establish the treatment of the agreed value under the transaction record, our Returns & Refunds Policy and your legal rights. Returning the new item does not by itself restore the original device.
6. Prepare your device and protect your data
Keep a backup before assessment. Confirm the inspection and handover steps with our team before erasing anything. Before final handover, remove your accounts and activation locks, SIM and memory cards, and personal content, and complete the appropriate factory reset. Arrange any SIM or eSIM transfer with your network provider.
Do not send passwords, unlock codes or one-time verification codes in an enquiry. Unlock the device yourself where testing requires it. Data recovery or migration is not included in the estimator; discuss any assistance you need before proceeding.
Resetting a device can permanently remove its contents. Check that your backup works and that you can access your accounts on another device before authorising a reset.
7. Delivery, collection and transport
Agree the assessment location and timing with us before travelling or sending a device. Do not assume that a checkout delivery option includes collection of your trade-in.
For an arranged courier or upcountry agent handover, confirm the recipient, packing instructions, tracking or receipt, charges, responsibility during transit and any return arrangements in advance. Keep evidence of the device's condition and the handover. Report a missing or damaged shipment promptly so it can be investigated.
8. Your information
Assessment enquiries can include your contact details, device information, condition and enquiry history. Ownership checks and completed transactions may require additional records. We use the information needed to assess your request, contact you, complete the agreed transaction, prevent fraud and meet applicable recordkeeping duties.
Our Privacy Policy explains handling, retention, service providers and your information rights. Optional marketing is separate from an assessment enquiry. Use our data request instructions or contact us if you need help with your information.
9. Questions, complaints and your rights
Contact ALLAN STORES with your assessment reference, the relevant device details and a description of the concern. Our contact page lists the current support channels and business location. Avoid including passwords or unnecessary identity documents.
These terms are governed by Tanzanian law. They do not exclude mandatory consumer rights, excuse responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, or prevent you from approaching a competent regulator or court.
10. Changes to these terms
The version and effective date identify this page. Future updates apply to future arrangements and do not change an already completed transaction retrospectively unless agreed or required by law. Keep a copy of the terms and the final transaction record for your reference.
